Simple Graphical Diff Utility

ImageCompare lets you easily compare two image files by displaying them either side-by-side or overlayed (with a slider to control opacity of either image).

Feature Overview

Visually compares images in three different modes:
- "Side-by-side"
- "Stacked" (useful for images that are wider than tall)
- "Overlay" (images are alpha-blended onto one another and a slider control allows you to control the opacity - useful for images with hard to make out differences)

- SGI Alias/Wavefront images (*.rla, *.rpf)
- Standard Windows bitmap images (*.bmp, *.rle, *.dib)
- Photoshop images (*.psd, *.pdd)

- Windows Metafiles (*.wmf, *.emf)

Displays image properties:
- File Size
- Dimensions (pixels)
- Creation and Modification timestamps
Uses additional hash check to ultimately determine binary difference
Optionally displays images stretched to window size, maintaining their aspect ratio
File Open dialog with integrated image preview

Known Issues

ImageCompare 0.9 is not considered final release quality yet. In particular you should be aware of the following issues:

Overlay mode occasionally causes Access Violations, especially when comparing images with different color depths.
Overlay mode in general could do with a few improvements, e.g. alignment options for images with different dimensions.
Stretching does not work with PNG images.
The window does not remember its position or size between invokations.
